Our Services
At St Jude’s Laundry, we offer premium commercial laundry services with a powerful social impact. Rooted in Edinburgh’s community and trusted by leading organisations, we combine professional standards with purpose - delivering exceptional quality while supporting people facing barriers to employment.
Our Facility
Our 12,000 sq ft state-of-the-art commercial laundry facility is purpose-built for efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Equipped with high-capacity, energy-efficient machinery and precision finishing systems, we deliver consistent, high-standard results for clients across hospitality, healthcare, and manufacturing.
At the heart of our operation is an inclusive team, proudly providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Our processes are designed to meet the highest standards of hygiene, reliability, and turnaround, while reducing water and energy use through smart, sustainable technology.
More than just a workplace, our facility is a foundation for doing things better - for our clients, our people, and our community.
St Jude’s Laundry was founded by James Young, an RAF veteran who believed meaningful work restores dignity and purpose. He set out to build more than a business - he created an opportunity for people often overlooked by the job market.
Alongside him, Jane Margaret Errington helped shape St Jude’s into an inclusive workplace where high standards and the right support go hand in hand.
Today, we are a thriving commercial laundry with social purpose at our core - delivering quality service while creating real opportunities for people to grow, contribute, and take pride in their work.
Because it’s never just been about laundry. It’s about people.
Our Story
Our Philosophy
At St Jude’s Laundry, we believe business should do more than deliver great service - it should serve a greater purpose.
Founded on compassion and committed to quality, our philosophy is simple: to provide outstanding commercial laundry while creating real opportunities for people facing barriers to work. Every sheet we press, every uniform we return, is part of a bigger story - one of dignity, purpose, and community.
